High Protein Breakfast Prevents Tension in the Evening

A breakfast rich in protein can help to lose weight. It prevents you from later in the day hungry in products with high fat and sugar, according to research from the University of Missouri.


Twenty young women who are overweight or obese normally the breakfast skipped, participated in the study. They had a breakfast with 35 grams of protein comprising eg. eggs and lean beef or cereal with a normal amount of protein in it and ate in the morning still nothing. Both breakfasts contain 350 kilo calories.

The subjects showed blood samples, completed questionnaires and just before dinner was with MRI scans looked at brain activity related to eating.



Saturated feel

Eating a breakfast rich in protein, showed a more full and satisfied feeling. Also ensured that the subjects evening snacks with much less sugar and fat eating. "A protein-rich breakfast affects the appetite later in the day, when people are more likely to fatty, sugary snacks to eat," says researcher Heather Leidy. If you never breakfast seems difficult to start doing, but according to Leidy takes only three days before the body is accustomed to early morning something to eat.


The research results were published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition .
